常見問題

Q1. I have error when running the software.

A.  Some computers might be missing this file. Please go to microsoft's web site to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

Q2. Cannot login

Just because you have a user id for SPTrader, does not mean you also have access to SP Native API. Some brokers offer it for FREE while others charge you or do not even provide it.  If you don't already have access to SP Native API, you can apply for a demo user id from Sharppoint.

Alternatively, you can use one of the 20 demo user ids as shown at Sharppoint here. However, since many many users compete for these FREE demo user ids, they are taken at a first come first served basis.  Users normally start using them at 06:30AM.

If you are using the demo server DEMO.SPSYSTEM.INFO provided by Sharppoint, please note that they reset the password back to 12345678 of all the demo user ids every morning at around 06:30AM.  Once a User ID is logined by another user and changed its password, you won't be able to use it.  On the othe hand, once you login to it, please change its password so others cannot use it.

Q3. I cannot place orders with Spark.

Please note that Sharrpoint requires you to change the password at least once before placing any order.

If you are using the demo server DEMO.SPSYSTEM.INFO provided by Sharppoint, since they reset the password back to 12345678 of all the demo user ids every morning, you ALSO need to change password once every morning to your own password before you can place any order.  Remember to change password, then logout and LOGIN AGAIN.

Q4. What is the "Simulate ONLY" checkbox?

Since sharrppoint's demo server only gives you fake market prices for demo, you might want to test out Spark with real market prices.  After you get your own SP Native API licenses and password from your broker, you can login Spark with the real broker's server to get real market price live feeds.

To allow you to test trading, we provide a simulation mode. When "Simulate ONLY" check box is checked, your trades and auto trade strartegies are simulated only and won't be sent to the broker's server.

Please note that simulation might different from actual deals in filling orders, especially when the market is thin.  That is, your simulation orders won't affect the real market's actual bid/ask, so the filled order prices might be more favourable than real life.

Q5. My current broker does not offer me FREE SP Native API access.

Please try one of these brokers which offers SP Native API.
